This is another plant I saw on my trip in the cascades this summer. It was relatively common in the valley just below the big glacier. I like these plants, but I don't see them very much. Seems like it might be only the second or third time I've seen them in the wild. I think this one might be spreading stonecrop
(Sedum divergens).

I think that you can be more certain about this identification than you sound in your post. Looking at Hitchcock and Cronquist, S. divergens seems like the best fit to me. The opposite broadly oval leaves and yellow flowers seem pretty diagnostic. The other species included in H&C with the similar features (S. debile) doesn't seem to occur in Washington.
I was being lazy. I just looked in Pojar and it did seem like the only one that fit very well, but can't always be sure that Pojar lists all the options.
These little guys are pretty tasty.
Make a nice trailside snack.
